MONDAY MONOLOGUES (AND SCENES!)
July 12 * July 19
Always wanted a starring role? Have an important audition coming up? Now's your chance! It's time to showcase your dramatic talents! Explore new characters. Challenge yourself with new roles. Learn new memorization and audition techniques. Develop your body language and feel at ease on stage. This workshop is also your opportunity to audition for the Broadway Bound Scenes & Monologues Team, which has earned top honors in regional competitions!
This audition-only team will meet weekly from September through May to develop monologues and scene work, learn new techniques, and challenge creativity with improv exercises and theatre games. Throughout the year, the teams prepare for competitions and their own end-of-season showcase. The teams are also an excellent way for members to prepare spring audition pieces for Tri-DAC, the Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, summer programs like the Broadway Theatre Project, colleges, universities and conservatories. Tuition for the nine-month team is $55 per month ($50 for members of a Broadway Bound musical theatre team).
Note: “Monday Monologues” participants may choose not to be considered for membership on the team.
