Featuring a cast of the Midlands' most talented young people and adults, the Broadway Bound Vista Theatre Project (BBVTP) presented Let's Play: A Musical Review July 29 - August 1 in the Columbia Music Festival Association's ArtSpace, 914 Pulaski Street in Columbia's Vista.
Let's Play included numbers from everyone's favorite Broadway musicals that feature child and teen characters — from Annie to The Sound of Music...Bye Bye Birdie to Footloose...The Secret Garden to Les Miserables — the list goes on and on!
The Let's Play ensemble included familiar faces from the BBVTP's 2019 production of Cats -- Ed Davis, Grayson Davis, Sydney Davis, Leighton Ford, Heather Hinson, Peter Lamkin, Leighton Mount, Mattie Mount, Dianne Palmer-Quay, Lanny Spires, Tracy Steele, Brianna Taylor, Stephanie Villamizar, Dani Wolan, Isabella Wolan and Matt Wright -- along with cast members from 2018's Lost in My Wonderland -- Catherine Cieri, Zach Cieri, Peyton Durrett and Jessica Slapnik -- and newcomers Gracie Bender, Angela Bernardo, Gwen Bernardo, Kati Coats, Emmy Hepfner, Adelaide Jennison, Daniel Lamkin, Annabelle Stratton and Cora Wallace. Audiences joined this bevy of performers both young and old(er) as they brought an evening of Broadway tunes to life and called out to audiences -- "C'mon, LET'S PLAY!!"
Conceived by director/choreographer Dedra Daniels Mount and musical director Michael Simmons, Let's Play was presented through a license with ASCAP. Costumes were by Dianne Palmer-Quay.
The Broadway Bound Vista Theatre Project is a non-profit community-based musical and dramatic performing arts organization created to present quality family entertainment and to provide opportunities for children and adults to develop talents in all aspects of theatre arts.
Performances were 8 p.m. July 29-30, 3 p.m. & 8 p.m. July 31, and 3 p.m. August 1. All tickets were $15, and seating was general admission. Due to the intimate nature of the performance space, face coverings were required for audience members.
